Catch Up

I can't believe it's been almost a month since my last post, to say time has been flying by would be an understatement.
And there is sooo much that I would like to blog about but honestly I just don't have the time right now.
Sad.
So, having said that what I am going to do is try and put it in one big post :)
Oh joy, here we go.
Micah at 3 am-
We celebrated Jonathan's big 22nd Birthday this past month as well.
I surprised him by taking him to lunch and to Hunger Games (which I LOVED) and got him a very much needed Iphone 4S.
After the movie we went to Cheesecake Factory at City Creek with my family.
Love you Jonathan, hope you had an amazing birthday!
One morning while feeding Micah, I could hear something going on in the kitchen but I had no clue what it was.
Go in, and Kale had been stuffing his face with Doritos that were on the TOP shelf of our pantry.
He kills me sometimes.
We had a really fun Easter, Kale loved every single thing about it. I love Easter outfits, Kale got a new shirt from Grandma and Micah wore the outfit Kale did on his first Easter (it was just a tad too big)
Micah LOVES bath time, he always almost falls asleep, but Kale makes good and sure that doesn't happen, Kale's very "helpful" at bath time.
I don't know how he does it, but he always always gets his blanket up over his face, and that's how he likes it.
All of us on Easter.
(It was really bright)
It has been a pretty crazy month but it has been amazing.
I am one very very blessed girl to have such amazing family and people in my life.
I will try to post more, Micah is slowly getting on a schedule.
But for right now, I really value my sleep :)
Till next time.

Micah Reed Ferguson

He's here!
Prepare yourself for a very long post all about my little prince.
Wednesday the 7th me and my mom went shopping to pick out the ribbon for the bassinet Micah would be sleeping in next to our bed for the first little while and to find fabric for his baby blanket.
Talk about last minute I know.
Wednesday night at 5 out of no where I started getting contractions consistently about 3-5 minutes apart.
I had been having contractions for days but nothing consistent whatsoever.
Around 6:30 I called my doctor to see what they wanted me to do cause they were now every 2-4 minutes apart and definitely getting stronger.
They told me to give it another hour and if they were still coming consistently to come in to the hospital.
At this point Jon was bouncing off the walls with excitement and starting to get everything ready to go.
I was still in denial that I was in labor, it just didn't seem real, I had wanted it so badly and I just didn't believe that it was going to happen.
So an hour later we were ready to go and headed up to my parents house to drop off Kale man.
The last picture of just us three, dropping off Kale at grandma's.
We got to the hospital around 8, I got my sexy gown on and got all hooked up to monitor contractions and baby.
My nurse checked me and I was dilated to a 3 and 70% effaced.
She said that if I didn't make any progress in 2 hours that they would send me home because I wasn't in active labor.
When she told me this I wanted to cry and punch her in the face at the same time.
I knew that if I went home I would be back in a matter of hours cause my contractions were just getting worse and worse.
So I asked her if I were sent home, how would I know when to come back in?
She told me that my contractions would get so bad that I wouldn't be able to move or think about anything else and would be balling my eyes out writhing in pain.
Ya... Let's go home for that.
So two hours later, surprise surprise, I hadn't progressed.
I almost started crying right then and there.
For some reason the nurse said she'd give me another hour to see if anything happened and we would go from there.
An hour later she checked me and I was at a 4 1/2 and 80% effaced.
Hallelujah!
So now it was for sure that I was staying the night and we were going to have a baby!
Then the evil nurse told me the great news.
She said that since my doctor wasn't the on call doctor for the night, they weren't going to do anything for pain management till morning when they could talk to my doctor and see what she wanted to do...
In other words I would be doing labor all night without my epidural, and my contractions were continuously getting worse and worse.
Here's the thing. This nurse was of the devil. I seriously felt like the entire time she was getting a kick out of watching me writhe in pain, and Jon said the same thing too.
I wish I would have yelled at her and said "hey devil woman, the reason for an on call doctor is so that you can call them and get the ok from them! You don't need to talk to my doctor!"
Long story short that night was awful.
Remember how she told me I would be writhing in pain and balling my eyes out.
Yep, I was.
So finally at 6 a.m. and dilated to an 8, the devil woman talked to my doctor and she called in for my epidural.
I got my epidural around 6:30 and boy was I happy.
It was perfect, I was just numb enough that I couldn't really feel the contractions but I could still move everything, and with Kale I couldn't move one bit and I hated it.
I was one happy momma.
And on another good note at 7 a.m. devil nurses shift was over!
I was sooo happy that that woman wouldn't be there to help deliver me.
My doctor got to the hospital around 7:30, they got everything all set up and ready to go.
I pushed for maybe 7 minutes and he was out.
Micah Reed was born at 7:52 a.m. he weighed 6lbs 6oz and was 19in long.
We want all our kids names to have some significance in them, Jon's middle name is Thomas, so that's where Kale Thomas comes from.
My dad's name is Reed, so that's where Micah Reed comes from.
The first thing that came out of both mine and Jon's mouth when we saw him was "oh my gosh he looks just like his brother"
It was such a perfect and amazing delivery.
I was balling uncontrollably as soon as he came out.
I absolutely loved Salt Lake Regional Hospital, everyone except for the one evil nurse was absolutely fabulous and it was so nice to deliver at a quieter hospital.
We left the hospital Saturday and it has been so nice to be home.
When we left Micah weighed 5lbs 12oz, I'm really interested to see what he will weigh at his doctors appointment this week.
I just can't get enough of Micah, he has changed so much already and the newborn stage goes by so quickly I'm trying to soak up every second of it.
I can't even begin to tell you how amazing Jon has been through all of this.
He seriously has been super dad/husband, I don't know what I would do without him.
Kale is super good with Micah, he's always kissing him and giving him loves, it melts my heart.
I have sooo much more I want to post and talk about, that I will try to get to soon.
Now prepare yourself for an onslaught of photos.
 Daddy's first time holding Micah.
My awesome nurse that helped deliver Micah
Kale's first time holding Micah
Kale did this all on his own, it was so sweet
Love my boys
First family photo
His going home outfit, the shirt says Little Brother
 Love him.
Sooooo much.
Till next time.

Bring on Baby!!!

Me and Kale headed to the park today after the gym, how on earth could we pass up being outside on a day like this?
I really wish it would just stay warm, I usually don't mind the snow but I am ready for some sun!
I can't even begin to tell you how ready I am to have this little man.
SOOOO ready.
I have gotten so pampered lately.
Thursday I got my hair done by Rachel.
Friday I got my lashes done, and Kale man got a very much needed haircut, also by Rachel.
I wish you could see his haircut better in the photo cause it's stinking cute, he sure is one studly little man. :)
I am not going to lie, I absolutely LOVE having a sister that is a beautician.
Saturday the Ferguson girls threw me a baby shower.
My sweet mother in law Renae went all out, she is just amazing.
First, she had a lady come to her house and she did glitter toes on all of us.
Since I just got my toes tone the other week I decided to do my nails.
I went out of the norm and got gold glitter on my nails, I'm so glad that the girls talked me into it cause I absolutely love it, it's really fun for a change.
My dad called them Vegas nails, they're pretty freaking awesome.
Awesome right? I know your jealous.
Then we played some fun baby shower games, complete with prizes.
I won a shower gel and loofah and a cute pack of thank you cards.
Then we had dinner from Rumbis mmmm, delicious, followed by chocolate covered strawberries for desert that were absolutely divine.
After that all the boys and kiddos came over and Renae watched all our kids for us while the couples went out and saw This Means War, which was freaking hilarious, I absolutely loved it.
After the movie we went back and opened presents, little man got some seriously cute stuff.
A big thank you to the Ferg ladies for throwing me a shower, and especially to Renae, who went way above and beyond, it was such a fun night!
After all this pampering I've been getting I feel completely ready for baby to come.
We've got our go bag ready, and now it's just a waiting game.
In case you haven't caught on I'm still really hoping that he will decide to come on his own before next Friday.
Please oh please oh please just come little boy, I am beyond ready.
Happy Monday everyone, and wish me luck!

Sweet and Saucy Chicken

I hadn't made this chicken for well over a year and I am so glad I did.
first you must know that Jon is not the biggest chicken fan, so I am always a bit hesitant with chicken dishes.
But he could not get enough of this, seriously the whole time he was making yummy sounds and telling me repeatedly how delicious it was.
It made me happy :)
I served mine with a heaping pile of steamed broccoli, zucchini, and asparagus and a slice of the best bread on the face of the earth, honey whole wheat from Great Harvest YUM, thanks mom! Of course you can't have that amazing bread without some amazing home-made strawberry jam on top, I'm drooling just thinking about it...
Anyways here you go, sweet and saucy/spicy chicken.
What you need:
6 chicken breasts
2 Cups Salsa- one thing I like so much about this recipe is you can make it however spicy you want, I used medium heat salsa and it had just the right amount of kick for us (we're kind of wussy in the spicy department)
1/3 Cup Brown Sugar
2 Tablespoons Honey Dijon Mustard
-I didn't want to make 6 chicken breasts so I used 3 and cut everything in half, worked perfectly.
Start by putting your chicken in an oven safe dish, I scored my chicken slightly as well to help get flavor in.
Also use a dish that your chicken fits snugly in so that the juice stays on top and around chicken instead of running off into the pan.
Then in another bowl combine the rest of ingredients and mix, then poor over chicken.
Cook in 375 degree oven for 40-45 minutes or till chicken is cooked through.
I like my chicken to have a little texture to it so once it was finished in the oven I grilled it slightly, once they were grilled up a little, I poured leftover juice from the oven dish over top.
And in case your wondering if grilling it made it dry, it didn't at all, it was still extremely juicy.
There you have it, super easy and yummy chicken, enjoy!
And happy Friday everyone, enjoy your weekend!
P.S. Is that not the cheesiest smile you've ever seen?
I couldn't resist sharing.
Till next time!

Blogger Fun!

I love reading posts that get spread around where you have to answer questions about yourself, and then pass it on to other bloggers.
I was totally shocked when my cute friend Mikell tagged me in her post with one of these today.
I would also like to say that I am super bummed I won't be able to make it to her wedding, but.... I'm going to be having a baby.
Sorry Mikell! Your going to be one beautiful bride!
Ok here we go!

1. Post these rules.
 2. Post a photo of yourself and 11 random things.

3. Answer the questions set for you in the original post.
4. Create 11 new questions and tag people to answer them.
5. Go to their blog/twitter and tell them you've tagged them.

 11 RANDOM THINGS:
1. I am exactly 37 weeks today, hence the belly photo (I'm now considered full term, woot woot! I made it!)
2. I hate popcorn
3. I broke both bones in both arms within 6 weeks of each other.
4. I have an innie bellybutton but I can pull it out
5. My innie/outie belly button is now an outie 95% of the time thanks to my big belly and Kale's favorite thing to do is pull up my shirt and play with my belly button. He thinks it is hilarious.
6. I play bonko once a month with my sister, mom, and a bunch of my mom's friends. It's pretty entertaining, I love it.
7. I painted our entire house when we moved in and I am re-doing our bedroom (hopefully this week) because I HATE the color... I'm kind of picky, I'm working on it.
8.  I refuse to watch scary movies, I hate them with a passion.
9. I love basically anything chocolate and have my whole life. When I was little nothing was the color brown, it was always chocolate... This gestational diabetes thing really sucks when it comes to that, it's a major issue.
10. Because of the gestational diabetes I have never eaten so good in my entire life and I really do feel amazing, I'm really liking this whole eat super healthy thing (most days)
11. One of my most favorite things is getting woken up by Kale climbing into bed with me and giving me a kiss on my cheek saying "good mornin mommy" it makes for a fabulous day.

Questions Mikell wants you to answer:

1. What is your favorite color?
It changes all the time but right now I would have to say it's a blue that I saw on some towels at Walmart that I am getting for our bathroom. Aqua blue is what comes to mind but I know that is way off, it's definitely not aqua, maybe I'll post some photos of when we get our bathroom done and show you all :)
2. What is your fondest childhood memory?
This is really hard, I can't think of any specific one because there are sooo many to choose from, but I would have to say any of the family vacations we took, I have so many great memories from all those, I could go on and on with stories from our family vacations.
3. If you could meet someone famous who is no longer living, who would it be?
Another hard one, but first person that comes to mind is Freddie Mercury, lead singer of Queen. I think he has the most amazing voice in the whole wide world and I would tell him that he needs to be careful cause he's going to get AIDS, that way he wouldn't have had to die and we could have so much more amazing music from him, yep.
 4. What is your biggest dream in life?
To travel the world with my husband and family. I would also like to have a house in Italy somewhere that we can go to and take family and friends for the summer.
 5. If you won $100.00 What would you do with it? $1.000?
Well I'm a lame-o that has the mind of a 50 year old so realistically I would save that money for bills or put it into savings.
Yep, I'm boring!
Unrealistically I would head straight to IKEA... OH YES! the best place on earth, I could VERY easily spend 1,000 bucks plus at that place.
6. If you HAD to move to another state, what state would you choose?
Easy! Maui, Hawaii, my most favorite place in the entire world. Me and Jon were just talking yesterday on how if we could we would move there in a heartbeat.
 7. If you could do something illegal with no consequences, what would it be?
Steal millions of dollars from someone disgustingly rich... Like Oprah...
And I wouldn't feel bad about it one bit.
 8. If you got to pick a super power, what would it be?
I would definitely pick to be able to go to wherever I wanted in the world just by thinking of it, like on the movie Jumper.
How freaking awesome would it be to simply think of a place and BAM! Your there.
9. What is your favorite song right now?
This is really random but Lady Gaga Americano. We bought Puss in Boots and Kale is obsessed with it so we have already watched it like 7 times and that song is at the end of the movie and you can't help but want to get up and dance to it, and it just gets worse the more and more you hear it.
10. What are you most afraid of?
Losing someone in my family or someone close to me. I have never dealt with death of anyone close to me in my entire life and it scares me so bad.
11. What is the best item on your bucket list?
To run a freaking marathon, because I know there is like a 25% chance of it ever happening!

QUESTIONS EMILY WANTS YOU TO ANSWER:
1. If you could go anywhere in the entire world where would it be?
2. What is your favorite show on t.v.?
3.  If you could be any celebrity who would it be?
4. If you could go back to any age of your life what year would it be and why?
 5. If you had a million dollars what would you do with it?
6. If you could have a 2 minute shopping spree at a grocery store what would you buy?
7. Black socks or white socks? Or no socks?
8. Where was your last vacation?
9. How many kids do you want and why?
10. What is your main reason for blogging?
11. What is your very first memory?

Alright chicas here is who I am tagging!

I can handle 3 more days...

So... here's a little up date on baby boy, we have changed the date for little man to get here.
It was going to be the 13th as I said in my previous post, but we have decided to change it to Friday the 16th instead, here's why.
Jon get's a week off of work when little man gets here.
If I were to get induced on Tuesday the 13th I would be in the hospital till Thursday, we would have Friday, the weekend, and Monday with Jon at home then he would have to go back to work that following Tuesday.
So I would be spending most of his week off in the hospital.
But by getting induced Friday the 16th, I would be out of the hospital most likely by Sunday and then we would have that entire next week of Jon being at home with me, Kale and the baby, plus that next weekend too.
He would just have to go in throughout the week a little to make up for that next Friday he would take off.
Basically it's ten days of being able to have Jon home helping me instead of seven.
I was SO against waiting any longer than I needed to to be induced and I wasn't going to do it at first but the more I got thinking about it, the more it just makes sense to do it this way.
I know I'm going to need a lot of help so whatever precious time I can have with Jon home, I will take.
Plus I really like the idea of Jon being able to have more time to bond with little man.
SO, as of right now the date is set for Friday, March 16th.
18 days... I think I can handle it :)
I'm still secretly praying that he will come any time before then though.
We also completely finished the nursery, I'll post some pics soon.
I think we are ready for him to get here, the only thing we still need is a glider or some sort of chair for the nursery, gliders are just so bloody expensive!
So if any of you know where to get an inexpensive glider or would like to donate one :) let me know, I will gladly take it off your hands for ya.
Happy Monday everyone, and a big shout out to my dad and sister.
It was Rachel's birthday on Friday and it's my dad's birthday today.
I'll keep their ages withheld for their sakes... They're pretty old
:)
We went out for sushi on Friday for Rachel's birthday, bless her.
I have been craving sushi FOREVER!
I of course got a cooked roll, and it was absolutely divine, I thought I had died and gone to heaven.
I keep telling everyone that someone is going to need to bring me sushi in the hospital.
Happy Birthday you two, I love you!
Have a super fantastic week everyone, till next time!
